Summer in Split

On my second last day in Split I met up with Damira an amazing photographer who showed me around the city and also took these beautiful snap shots. We walked for quite some time and I got to explore the city with a local, which was a great decision.
I got to see some secret spots I would have never been able to without the insight of a local. We stopped by on the way and had coffee, then later in the day we enjoyed some wine along the Riva. I did some little shopping and we ended up having ice-cream at the best places in Split (more about where to eat soon). I had a splendid day and can't wait to get back to that stunning place.

DE: An meinem vorletzten Tag in Split traf ich mich mit Damira. Sie ist eine tolle Fotografin 'based' in Kroatien. Sie zeigte mir die geheimen Ecken der Stadt, die man als Tourist wahrscheinlich sonst nicht sehen bekommen würde. Natürlich machte sie bei unserem langen Spaziergang durch die Stadt auch einige tolle Aufnahmen von mir. Wir hielten zwischendurch an und tranken einen Kaffee und am frühen Nachmittag gönnten wir uns einen Wein an der Riva Promenade. Ich erledigte meine Einkäufe und wir beendeten unseren Tag mit einem Eis beim besten Eiscafe der Stadt. Mehr Anregungen, wo man am besten Essen kann, gibt es bald auf dem Blog. Bis dahin, viel Spaß mit diesen Schnappschüssen! Ich hatte einen tollen Tag mit Damira und kann es kaum erwarten, Kroatien bald wieder zu bereisen.

Split Postcards

I just can not get over how beautiful Croatia was. I spent 5 days in Split before driving to Trogir and then further up north to Rab. We then spent a few days camping in Lopar, at Paradise Beach. I naturally took loads of photos - this country is simply stunning.

I wish I would have had more time to explore other cities and also do some island hopping, which everyone advised me to do. But time seems to run much faster when you are on holiday. And before I knew it, I had to make my way to Trogir harbour for more traveling. I really hope you will enjoy the photos. This is only a small portion of what is to come of my Croatia Travel Diary. All photos were taken with my amazing OLYMPUS PEN Lite E-PL7.

DE: Ich kann einfach nicht fassen wie wunderschön Kroatien ist. Ich habe 5 wundervolle Tage in Split verbracht, bevor es dann nach Trogir und von dort weiter nördlich nach Rab ging. Mit der Fähre ging es zum Campen nach Lopar an den Paradise Beach. Ich musste natürlich ganz viele Fotos machen, dieses Land ist einfach beeindruckend. Ich wünschte ich hätte noch länger dort bleiben können. Ich hätte gerne noch andere Städte gesehen und auch einige Inseln besucht. Leider vergeht die Zeit noch viel schneller wenn man im Urlaub ist. Ehe ich mich versah war mein Split Trip vorbei und es ging für mich zum Hafen in Trogir. Dies ist der erste Teil meines Kroatien Travel Diaries - viel Spaß beim anschauen. Alle Fotos habe ich mit meiner wundervollen OLYMPUS PEN Lite E-PL7.

It's in the details

Even though the weather in Berlin doesn't look very promising at the moment I still feel like wearing summer whites. I especially love blouses or tunics because you can style them in many ways. You can go from a more chic look to a very casual one wearing the same blouse.
I wore this ensemble a few weeks ago and must say it has become one of my favorite summer pieces. You can get similar ones here, here or here. I do love a all white outfit when the weather allows. So this is just up my alley.

DE: Auch wenn das Wetter in Berlin zurzeit nicht sonderlich nach Sommer aussieht, lasse ich es mir nicht nehmen meine liebste Sommerfarbe zu tragen: Weiß! Am liebsten trage ich im Sommer weiße Blusen oder Tuniken wie hier vor einigen Wochen in Berlin. Ich finde man kann sie einfach sehr vielseitig stylen, ob schicker oder lässiger, mit den richtigen Accessoires kann man ein tolles Outfit zusammenstellen. Die Bluse hier ist von Esprit, ähnliche findet ihr hier, hier oder hier. Ich persönlich liebe ja ein #allwhite Outfit. Ich hoffe es ist bald wieder warm genug, damit ich endlich wieder weiß tragen kann!

I'm back in Berlin and already missing the amazing weather in Croatia. Before I'll start spamming you with my amazing travel photos I wanted to squeeze in a fashion related post. It's about time I guess.
All Stars must be my all time favorite sneaker. I have had my white ones for years now. But after attending the Soutside Festival a few days ago, my favorite pair is not what it used to be. The rain and mud ruined them completely, so I'm currently looking for a new pair. This time I was thinking of picking up something a little bit different to the classic white ones I had. On my hunt for the perfect new pair of All Stars, I stumbled over these from OTTO. I love this burgundy red. It's quite a game changer don't you think? Are you guys All Star fans? What's you fvourite color?

DE: Ich bin wieder gut in Berlin angekommen, aber vermisse Kroatien und das tolle Wetter jetzt schon. Doch bevor ich euch mit Urlaubsbildern vollspamme, gibt es heute mal wieder etwas modisches auf dem Blog! Jeder Mensch besitzt wohl ein Paar dieser coolen Sneaker: All Stars. Sie gehören zu meinen liebsten Sportschuhen. Leider habe ich mir meine auf dem Southside Festival komplett versaut und suche zurzeit deshalb nach einem neuen Paar. Nun will ich aber nicht wieder die klassischen weißen oder schwarzen nehmen, sondern bin auf der Suche nach was flippigerem. Dabei bin ich bei OTTO fündig geworden. Das Rot wäre mal eine willkommene Abwechslung. Was meint ihr? Seid ihr auch ein All Star Fan? Welches ist eure Lieblingsfarbe?

Divota Part Two

Before leaving Split I spent my final day/night in another apartment. The Divota team kindly asked me to try out another apartment while residing in their beautiful Hotel. This is the luxurious Superior Studio - 901 located at the ground floor of a small Dalmatian house.
Beautiful, isn't it? I could easily move in here. The kitchen is fully equipped and the modern bathroom ist just gorgeous. The amenities of the apartment are the same as in my previous one. What I like about this apartment the most is that it's much cooler temperature wise than the one before. That is because it is located at the ground floor. Split has been crazy hot the last few days so it's nice to get to a cool apartment. It's instantly refreshing once you enter. I also had a a great night in my double bed. I can definitely recommend this Apartment, especially for couples. The whole Divota Apartment Hotel is very recommendable, if you ever visit Split!

DE: Bevor es für mich am Samstag nach Trogir zum Hafen, und von dort mit dem Auto nach Rab ging, durfte ich meine letzte Nacht in einem anderen Apartment des Divota Hotels verbringen. Das Divota Team wollte mir damit die Möglichkeit geben etwas mehr vom Hotel zu sehen. Ich hab mich über das neue Apartment natürlich sehr gefreut. Es war das luxuriöse Superior Studio - 901. Dieses Apartment befindet sich im Erdgeschoss eines kleinen dalmatischen Hauses. Wunderschön oder? Ich würde sofort einziehen wenn ich könnte! Die Ausstattungsmerkmale sind die gleichen wie in meinem vorherigen Apartment. Es verfügt über eine Küche und ein modernes Bad. Was mir im neuen Apartment am meisten gefiel war, dass es in diesem viel kühler war als das Superior Twin Studio. Ich habe die Klimaanlage nicht ein Mal anschalten müssen. Das liegt natürlich an der Erdgeschosslage des Apartments. Ein absoluter Pluspunkt bei der Hitze in Split. Es st einfach schön nach einem langen Tag im Zentrum, in ein kühles 'zu Hause' zu kommen. Ich konnte außerdem wundervoll schlafen, auf meinem großen Doppelbett. Ich kann dieses Apartment nur empfehlen vor allem für Paare. Das gesamte Divota Apartment Hotel ist eine gute Wahl, wenn ihr nach Split kommt!

Breakfast in Split

I'm never one to have breakfast unless I'm on holiday. My stay at the Divota Apartment Hotel has been delightful so far. My Apartment ist located in the very center of the old town and the reception is just a short walk away. I really can't complain. What I have been enjoying the most so far though is the breakfast.

It's served every morning from 7.30am-12.00pm in the cute Breakfast Room just minutes away from my apartment. I love waking up and strolling down the cute little streets to get there. The staff is beyond amazing and has been very hospitable and helpful. They surely know their customer service. Even though you can order the breakfast to your room, I decided not to for the first couple of days. That gave me the opportunity to check out the location, take photos and also record a little video sequence for my very first FMA.

As you can see in the photos there's a big selection of bread, pastries, fruits and drinks. I'm a sweet tooth, so I have been living off the croissants. I would just dip them in homemade blackcurrant marmalade - so good! Oh and the muffins are delicious too, plus super healthy. The juice is always freshly made and they also offer a variety of smoothies, teas and coffee. You can have cereals or muesli with your breakfast and also choose between boiled or scrambled eggs. You will definitely have a great start into the day after having breakfast at Divota. The best time to explore the city is after you've been well fed, agree?

DE: Ich frühstücke eigentlich nie, es sei denn ich bin im Urlaub und habe die Zeit dazu. Mein Aufenthalt im Divota Apartment Hotel war bisher wundervoll. Die Location ist super und die Rezeption nur Minuten entfernt. Ich kann mich wirklich nicht beklagen. Was ich jedoch am tollsten finde ist das großartige Frühstück. Man kann es sich auf Zimmer bringen lassen, oder aber man schlendert die kleinen süßen Straßen entlang und geht zum frühstücken in den Breakfast Room. Das habe ich die ersten zwei Tage hier in Split getan. So konnte ich nämlich gleich mal fotografieren und eine kurze Videosequenz für mein FMA drehen.

Von 07:30 bis 12:00 kann man im Breakfast Room frühstücken. Das Personal ist unglaublich nett und zuvorkommend. Neben einer Auswahl an Brot, Früchten und Gebäck, kann man auch verschiedene Getränke bestellen. Die Säfte sind immer frisch gemacht und neben Kaffee und Tee gibt es auch eine kleine Auswahl an Smoothies. Ich liebe Süßes ja, deshalb kam ich um die Croissants einfach nicht herum. Diese in Kombination mit der hausgemachten Johannisbeermarmelade waren immer das Highlight meines Frühstücks. Des weiteren stehen Müsli und Cornflakes natürlich zur Auswahl, sowie hartgekochte Eier oder Rühreier. Nach einem tollen Frühstück im Divota kann man wohlgenährt die Stadt erkunden. Besser geht's nicht!

Divota

Before I'm meeting my friends on Saturday to go camping in Rab, I thought I should spend a few days in Split to explore the city. It's my first time in Split (and Croatia for that matter) and I'm already in love.
If you know me, you will most certainly be aware of my love for old, ancient places. I love getting to know the history of a city, it's heritage and what it's been through. Split certainly has to offer more culture than I can 'get done' in a week. But first, let me show you my current habitat while here in Split. I'm staying at the most cosy Apartment Hotel Divota. It's located in the old town of the city. Super central and easy to reach from the airport. It's also just a short walk away from he main street which offers many shopping opportunities as well as restaurants and bars. I'm residing in the Superior Twin Studio - 303 which is a beautiful apartment with white interior, located in the attic of the stone house - just my kind of apartment. But see for yourself!

DE: Bevor es für mich diesen Samstag zum Campen nach Rab geht, habe ich mir einige Tage frei genommen um Split zu erkunden. Ich bin zum ersten mal in dieser Stadt (und Kroatien im Allgemeinen), aber schon so verliebt in diese wunderschöne Stadt. Wer mich kennt, weiß, dass ich altertümliche Städte liebe. Die Geschichte einer Stadt fasziniert mich ungemein und Split scheint einiges zu bieten zu haben, was Kultur und Erbe angeht. Eine knappe Woche wird da wohl nicht ausreichen. Bevor ich euch jedoch all das zeige, gibt es heute schon mal eine kleine 'Apartment Tour' meiner Unterkunft in Bildern. Ich wohne im Divota Apartment Hotel. Dieses wunderschöne Hotel befindet sich in der Altstadt Splits, also sehr zentral gelegen und vom Flughafen sehr gut erreichbar. Ich könnte nicht glücklicher mit er Location sein. Alle Hauptattraktionen sind in wenigen Minuten erreichbar, genauso wie Restaurants, Bars und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Ich nächtige im Superior Twin Studio - 303. Dieses schöne Apartment befindet sich in einem umfunktionierten Steinhaus. Von Außen antik, von Innen jedoch sehr modern. Der perfekte Mix. Seht selbst!
