LONDON FASHION WEEK AW14: It's in the Details

LFW. Some Insta bits from my necessary accessories of my first couple of days at London Fashion Week, which I covered for Legatto Lifestyle Magazine as well as collaborated with Fashiolista! I took over their Instagram account and had so much fun snapping my impressions of this season FW! Have you checked their Instagram yet? Make sure to follow them and me HERE for all things Fashion!
I received quite a lot of cute gifts during this Fashion Week, such cute surprises to come home to after a long, cold, rainy, freezing but sunny day at the tent! I am so in love with my new Boutique Minimaliste jewellery in the photo below. Seriously, jewellery and me are like peanut butter and jelly guys. Can't exists without each other ha

LFW: Minnie Knows x Fashiolista

London Fashion Week. While you read this I'm probably either in Uni (first exam of my final year people) or at the first show at London Fashion Week. YES guys, it's that time of the year again, London Fashion Week kicks off tomorrow. Starting with the J. JS Lee show at 9am! I am super excited as I wasn't able to attend the past 2 season (was abroad as usual hehe). But I'm even more excited to announce that I will be taking over the Fashiolista Instagram to give you all juices on London Fashion Week. Also make sure to follow me on Instagram HERE for first sneaky peeks into the most crazy but fun week of the year.

P.S The above are two of my new wardrobe staples! The super chic and timeless Modalu Twiggy bag and my amazing Zara heels, such a bargain ! #WIN

Happy Friday lovers!

RAINY DAYS

Rainy Afternoon. Yesterday was one of those rainy afternoons where you just want to stay in bed forever, with a warm tea or a homemade Lavazza espresso (thanks to my amazing Favola baby) and a good book. I didn't do anything than eat rhubarb cake, read and watch films all day/night hehe The perfect rainy day pick-me-up and a great way to overcome the Monday blues!

This Fossil watch is my absolute favorite staple and I have worn it everyday ever since I bought it! Yeah, I do tend to exaggerate at times. But when a piece is so good I can't help it.

Happy Tuesday loves!

Sunday Thoughts

Sunday. Instead of the usual Flower Market venture on a Sunday afternoon with following post, I am writing something different today. For one it's due to me still being sick and spending most of my time in bed, so no Flower Market for me this weekend. However, I have had time to read as I told you earlier which I have really missed. And with read I mean something other than Uni textbooks and books on how to best prepare for Exams. I have of course, also had time to read my favorite blogs. My current favorite read: Daria Daria by talented Madeleine Alizadeh.

Long story short, being in bed all day, taking in knowledge from writers such a Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Dickens and Austen, listening to Beethoven and Chopin does result in a peak of inspirational input, hence poems and other creative pieces being written. I have never done this before, but since Minnie Knows is my own personal little world where I should be able to do anything, say anything and most importantly write anything I want to, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to share with one of my biggest passions besides fashion, namely writing! May it be poems, interior monologues or short stories, I find delight in expressing my thoughts and feelings through the most important channel of human kind - language.
I have always been a bit reluctant to share my work since I am never fully satisfied with my final product. It takes me hours, days and sometimes months to finish a piece and even then I am still not fully satisfied. Nevertheless, this one work I want to share with you guys! I have actually written this some time ago in Berlin and with my trip back to Berlin fast approaching, I thought it might be a good one to share with you first. I really hope you like it. And even if you don't, please do share your opinions, because that's how I can always work to be better and strive to produce my best and nothing less.
Here we go:

-A lifetime-

Departure time 9.15
I was waiting for the usual flight that would take me back to another home away from home.
These flights seemed to have become my everyday life.
More often than not was I up in the air, to and fro.
Spent more hours of my life up in the air, between lands, than I set foot in them.
Constantly.
Leaving countries and arriving in different time zones.
Ans yet here I was again.
Waiting.

However, this time proved to be different.
Sitting, waiting for flight number 10487, I glanced and old couple.
Sitting next to me.
Waiting.
Just like me, they were waiting.
Uncertain of where they were going, I was amazed by their comfort towards each other.
Day dreaming about my own future I let myself drift away.
Dreamed of a human being that would give me that same comfort one day.
So amazed by how these two souls dealt with each other.
Their speech. Their gestures. Their facial expression.
I spotted their golden rings.
Each one around the ring finger that implied a long life had been lived.
Together.
I asked them how long the had been together.
Like a matter of course, it bursts out of me.
With a shy smile they answered almost simultaneously, 65 years.

Yes, 65 years.

780 months.
3.120 weeks.
23.360 days.

65 years.
Triple my age, I thought.
More than half a decade.
Lived and spent with one person.
Woken up next to the same face.
Day after day.
Kissed, only one person.
Your whole life.
It had something do beautiful.
Poetic.
Personal and oh so honest.

Eager to know how it had worked out I was even more amazed to hear the answer:

'We grew up learning to fix what was broken, not throw it away just like that.'

He said.
She smiled.
Holding his hand tighter, I couldn't but admire these beautifully crafted human beings.

The words he had said entered my head, took hold of my mind and devoured my thoughts.
They looked for a place in my head where they could never be tossed out again.
Once they conquered this they made their way to my heart.
My inner most part of my body and made sure never to leave again.

65 years.
780 months.
3.120 weeks.
23.360 days.

Telling me their story, how they had met and what they had been through made them even more special.
I couldn't but associate their story with a beautiful song.
Their story sounded like one of those love stories that did only occur every now and then.
Tragic with an almost unbearable climax yet a happy ending.
Yes, it sounded like that once in a lifetime thing where one decision was made that changed one's life completely.
Proving to be the best decision someone could ever make, will have made, no matter what the future might hold.

Crafted in a time where the words 'love' and  being 'in love' were not being just tossed around.
They still meant something.
Everything.
Theses souls were  the living evidence.

65 years.
780 months.
3.120 weeks.
23.360 days.

A lifetime.

New In: Camel Coat

ASOS. Just ordered this beauty! At last I have found a camel coat that I really like. The search has finally come to an end.  I have been looking for one for ages, literally everywhere - I especially love that this one comes with a little twist with the contrast sleeves. Can not wait to wear this in Berlin in a couple of weeks! It will look great paired with a striped jumper, a wool hat and skinny jeans! I'm so excited to style it and shoot for the blog. Get yours HERE!

I'm currently sick in bed. Woke up with the worst stomachache and been sleeping all day. It's so annoying being sick, especially when the sun finally decides to come out here in London and I am bedridden. The only good thing about my misery is, that I finally found some time to finish a book, start a new one and write some poems. YES, I write poems. Guilty. It's not all just fashion in my head :D

Happy Saturday!

NYFW. Less than an hour to go until NYFW officially kicks off with all the collections for Fall 2014. Of course, I am live streaming all shows as usual in collaboration with Rightster and hope you enjoy watching the shows! Next season I'll finally be there in person myself to report about all NYFW madness - but until then, enjoy the video!

New In: Palladium Boots

Palladium. Love, love, love my new Boots I got sent by Palladium! I've always wanted boots like these, that do not only look good but are practical as well. I always craved Timberland boots but never got around to buying them (always found something else I wanted/needed more). So what a good timing to receive these babies - not only will they come handy when I go to Berlin this month, but are also perfect for the non-stop rainy days in London! You can find the exact same ones HERE or shop the look by clicking on the photos down below.

Happy Wednesday!

Flower Market Ventures

Sunday. I can't believe how quick the weekend went by. It's Monday already - seriously how did that happen? I had a couple of meetings and an interview at Hallhuber (fingers crossed) this morning and now I'm back at Uni. So boring I must say, so I'm escaping into the blogging world for a little change! I spent a lovely day with Magda yesterday. We went to the flower market on Columbia Road, had a little brunch at Lily Vanilli Bakery and of course took outfit photos! It was quite sunny and warm, perfect weather for a venture to the market.
I'm wearing this amazing white coat from Fashion Union, which I'm absolutely in love with. You have to check their store out -trendy, good quality pieces for affordable prices.

Happy Monday!
